This damage assessment map (processing by ParBleu Technologies Inc.) is produced by superimposition of the temporal changes detected in RADARSAT-1 imagery (16 July 2003 used as a reference, 24 September 2004, and 30 September 2004) on top of a LANDSAT-7 panchromatic image dated 3rd July 2003.
Hence, the colours correspond to changes observed by RADARSAT-1, whereas the LANDSAT-7 image is used as a background map. As a consequence, the locations where no significant changes were detected appear in grey tones.
It is noteworthy that the changes detected over extended areas correspond often to potential damage to vegetation and crop cultivations (characterized by their geometrical shape).
This map is produced in cartographic projection UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) Zone 18 Q, with Earth ellipsoid WGS 1984 (GPS).

during the whole period of the observations (24-30 September). |
Green tones | Sedimentation areas and mud deposits. |
Grey tones | No significant effects. |
